At the heart of our work is Takalani Sesame, a trusted companion in millions of homes. Broadcast across TV, radio, digital platforms, and mobile apps, Takalani Sesame delivers playful, age-appropriate learning through storytelling that reflects the unique experiences of South African children.
Across 18 seasons, our furry friends have taught essential skills (from literacy and numeracy to empathy, inclusion, and emotional well-being) in five South African languages, including South African Sign Language.

Reaching Children Across South Africa
We reach children wherever they are, from cities to rural communities, using a blended delivery model that combines mass media with direct community programming.
Our programmes have a strong presence in Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal, while our national broadcast footprint ensures that children across the country (and the continent) benefit from inclusive educational content every day.
