SWISA Attends Women20 South Africa

Sesame Workshop South Africa attended the launch of Women20 South Africa (W20SA) at the National Research Foundation (NRF) on 26 February. The event focused on promoting gender equality and women’s economic empowerment. The W20SA is an official engagement group of the G20 summit, established to ensure that gender issues are included in G20 leaders’ discussions and decisions.

The theme for W20SA is “Women in Solidarity towards Sustainable Socio-Economic Development,” aligning with South Africa’s presidency themes of solidarity, equality, and sustainable development.

Sesame Workshop South Africa attends event with the President of South Africa the 10th Annual DBE Lekgotla

Sesame Workshop South Africa was represented at the “South Africa’s G20 Education Agenda” which drew heavily on the national plans of the 7th Administration to prioritise strengthening Early Childhood Development. The President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa was in attendance and called for government to “Take the G20 Summit to the People”. We are excited to see what this future looks like for the space we heavily work in.

The 2025 CSI Legacy Awards

Sesame Workshop South Africa attends the 2025 CSI Legacy Awards. This prestigious event honoured organisations and individuals making significant strides in addressing poverty, inequality, and unemployment. The event, under the theme “Africa in Concert,” reflected on 30 years of democracy and showcased innovative efforts shaping the next era of social and economic transformation. Sesame Workshop South Africa was represented at the awards by our Managing Director, Onyi Nwaneri and the Education and Research team.
